David LaNeve - Headshot

David LaNeve, CPP

Director, Educational Curriculum

David LaNeve is Director of the California Center for Digital Arts, which offers hands-on mentoring and photography classes in Orange County, California. He has been an educator for eight years, teaching a range of foundation photography courses suited for beginners and intermediate levels.

He is a dedicated mentor and teacher who has helped many students develop their artistic voice and style. In addition to teaching photography courses, David hosts a variety of travel workshops, visiting and photographing locations such as Borrego Springs, Joshua Tree, Salton Sea, Yellowstone, Arizona, Iceland, and Africa. These travel workshops have been a highlight of CCDA because it brings people from all walks of life together with the shared joy of capturing breathtaking images.

Previously, David has been a studio photographer for twenty years, photographing intimate moments and people of all ages and backgrounds. David’s unique lighting approaches, sometimes simple, sometimes complex, reveal the essence, the very soul of his subjects. “I get to share some of the greatest moments in my customer’s lives, and for me that is an honor”, he says.

David is also recognized as a Certified Professional Photographer (CPP) by PPA.

Sarah Hovey - Headshot

Sarah Rogers

Adobe Certified Expert

Sarah Rogers is an Adobe Certified Expert and active Lifestyle Photographer in Orange County, CA. Sarah is a graduate of the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandizing, holds two degrees, and for ten years traveled the globe managing a wide array of fashion projects.

She has extensive day-to-day workflow skills with Photoshop, Lightroom and understands the value of mentored learning for those students who need to master creative skills. Ms. Hovey is a passionate photographer and is passionate about her teaching assignments at the California Center for Digital Arts. She embraces the hands-on mentored learning philosophy that is a hallmark of the school, and is able to expand student’s horizons as they blend their digital photography with Photoshop, Lightroom, and other skills instructions.

John Aranus - Headshot

John Aranas

Fine Art Photography

John Aranas enjoys taking time on personal projects, traveling and capturing local scenery. Some of these images can be found in his fine art portfolio. He has been working in photography since 2012 starting with owning a photo booth company with his wife Tina called “Foto Fun Adventures”.

The business quickly grew to event, portrait and wedding photography. In 2017 John completed his CPP certification that is part of the Professional Photographers of America (PPA.com/CPP) which is the leading body for certifying imaging professionals. He is the 2nd Vice President on the Board of the Professional Photographers of Orange County. John also manages the Image Competition for the association along with other assorted duties. He has completed 3 years of course studies at Tri-Community Photography School to improve his skills in lighting, Photoshop, camera techniques, both in studio and environmental photography.

Eric Joseph is a photographer and Senior Vice President of New Business and Product Development at Freestyle Photographic Supplies. Eric graduated from California State University, Northridge in 1985 with a B.A. in Art, Specializing in Photography. Speaking at

colleges, universities, commercial labs, photo clubs, and teaching here at the California Center for Digital Arts, Eric teaches the skills necessary to produce amazing prints.

Ming Lo

Ming has been taking pictures since high school, starting on film with a small Olympus camera. Ming is now an actor and photographer, and loves shooting headshots, model portfolios, landscapes, commercial projects, real estate and dance. Ming is also a filmmaker, and has shot several shorts, music videos and local commercials.
